IowaComputerGurus Inc. offers a full selection of computer maintenance services to customers in the greater Des Moines, Iowa area.  Most services are completed on a per hour basis and are charged at our standard rate of $65 per hour with a 1 hour minimum charge. (One way travel included in time)

We offer services both on-site and with pick-up and drop-off abilities. Please contact us for detailed information regarding either option.  Below is a listing of some of our common service areas and some general descriptions of the services we offer.

System Optimization

This includes general system cleanup and performance tuning operations. Typical client selections for this service offering would be our standard system cleaning operation which includes: disk defragmentation, spyware scan, system registry optimization, startup program validation and unused program cleanup. The cost for this service is $120 for on-site work and $150 for pick-up/drop-of service.

Virus Extraction

If you have a system that has been infected with a virus we will work with you to remove the virus with little to no data loss if possible. However, due to the wide variety and nature of viruses, virus removal is something that must be handled on a case by case basis. The typical charge for virus extraction is 2 hours, but this can vary greatly depending on the severity of the infection.

System Upgrades

System upgrade services include both the actual installation of upgraded hardware or software, as well as consultation on the best upgrades to consider, given your computing needs. It is our goal to provide you with the expert advice you need to make an informed decision about your upgrade options. Pricing for these services will vary depending on the type of upgrade you are considering.  Below are a few examples of the typical labor cost for some common upgrades. (Not including the cost of the upgraded hardware or software)

-System Memory (RAM) upgrade: approx $65 (1hr)

-Hard Drive upgrade: approx $65 (1hr)

-Software installation (Non OS) and basic usage instruction:  approx $65 (1hr)

-Operating system upgrades w/data migration: approx $195 (3hrs)

-Operating system upgrades w/out data migration: approx $130 (2hrs)

-Limited phone consultation about hardware/software upgrades: Free

-On-site consultation about hardware/software upgrades: approx $65 - $130 (1 - 2hrs)
